Researchers at the Fraunhofer Development Center for X-ray Technology EZRT are developing novel cognitive sensor systems capable of generating comprehensive data from test objects. Our research group, »Context-sensitive sensor technology and automation« in Deggendorf focuses on innovative methods for the best possible data generation. Our research group, »Knowledge-based Image Processing and Visualization« in Passau, on the other hand, provides solutions that make it easier to analyze measurement data to gain a deeper understanding of the test objects.

What you will do

  • In this exciting role, you will develop and test new computed tomography methods for our customers, ranging from system software and calibration to data analysis and visualization.
  • You will, for example, design and implement methods that can be used to detect defects and evaluate your designs using real data.
  • In order to lead your projects to success, you will work closely with experts in various fields such as X-ray computed tomography, image processing, visualization, software development, and marketing.

What you bring to the table

  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science or a related field
  • Strong background in modern software development (OOP, Git, etc.)
  • Experienced in working with system and scripting languages (C++, C#, and Python), ideally also with GUI or visualization frameworks such as Qt and VTK
  • Advantageous: Initial knowledge of computer tomography or image processing
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English

The position is also suitable for career starters with relevant prior knowledge and experience from internships, student research projects or final theses.

The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the aim to extend it subsequently. The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis with a preference, however, to have it filled as close to a full-time position as possible.
