Stochastic Algorithms and Nonparametric Statistics

(Head: Prof. Dr. Vladimir Spokoiny) starting at June 1st, 2024.

We are looking for: Candidates with a completed scientific university education as well as a doctorate in the field of mathematics or equivalent experience. We are seeking outstanding scientists in research fields of statistics, machine learning, or optimization. Very good English skills are still expected. International experience is also advantageous.

The research area comprises the following topics among others:

  • Large-scale Bayesian procedures
  • High-dimensional statistical inference
  • Langevin and Hamiltonian Monte-Carlo methods

The position is remunerated according to TVöD and is limited to three years. The work schedule is 39 hours per week, and the salary is according to the German TVoeD scale.
